Merceq Alpha Tests
Here are a few things to know before you apply to Merceq’s alpha program.
Optional usage measurements
With in-app permission and an Alpha license, Merceq collects aggregate search counts and durations, empty results, Sense filter usage and bulk decisions, speech-analysis result counts, processing durations and success/error counts.
Reports include a random installation ID, app/macOS versions, Mac model, chip and RAM, approximate library-size range and active-use days. The ID is not linked to your license, email or device key; we do not call these records completely anonymous.
Videos, audio, frames, transcripts, search phrases, notes, tags, file/folder names and individual decisions on identifiable clips are excluded. The measurement record contains no IP.
No separate performance test runs. Counters are saved locally about every 10 minutes; the first report is sent 24 hours after permission, then at most daily. You can inspect the complete outgoing report in Settings. Disabling permission deletes unsent measurements. To request deletion of submitted measurements, contact us with the installation ID. See Privacy Policy.
Feedback and crash reports
Only selecting Send transmits your message or crash report, application/macOS versions and possibly Mac model, processor and memory. Crash reports may include an error and technical trace. Optional recent logs may contain file and folder names. Reports are not sent automatically; you can inspect them first. We receive personal details in your message only if you include them.
Retention and deletion
License and activation records are kept as needed to provide license rights. Applicable retention obligations separately govern purchase and other legally required records.
The trial network digest is kept for 30 days, masked access logs for at most 14 days. Feedback retains the latest 5,000 records, measurements the latest 50,000 events; these counts are not fixed day limits.
When Alpha ends and Merceq moves to release, Alpha applications, usage measurements and Alpha feedback/crash reports are deleted from active server records. Copies in backups are cleared within 30 days. We do not claim complete deletion before every copy is removed.
Records needed to maintain license rights are separate. Server deletion does not delete your local footage, library or acquired license rights. Contact [email protected] for earlier deletion where applicable.
