Understand license use and updates included

The license window may show License use and Updates Included as separate pieces of information.

• License use tells you how long your license lets you use the app. A perpetual license says “Perpetual (Lifetime)”.
• Updates Included shows the date through which released versions are covered.

If a new version was released outside your update coverage, that doesn’t mean you can no longer use the earlier version covered by your license. Check the explanation on screen.

For Alpha access, the Alpha ends date is shown. With Contributor access, it says “Perpetual access is active.” Use the information in your own license window as the source of truth.

If you have an Alpha license, the Settings → License page also has an Alpha metrics switch. For details, see the privacy and Alpha metrics settings in Chapter 12.
