Which files are imported?
| Status | Formats |
|---|---|
| Added to the library | MP4, MOV, M4V, AVI, MKV, MTS, M2TS, MPG/MPEG, WMV, FLV, WEBM, 3GP, INSV, MXF, BRAW, R3D |
| Imported but can’t be previewed on Mac | Raw camera formats such as BRAW and R3D. Their details appear in the library, but you need to open the videos in their own apps. Merceq reports this as “The format of {n} clips can’t be opened on this Mac…”. |
| Not imported as separate clips | .LRV, .THM, .GLV (the camera’s own small previews; the original video is imported) |
| Recognized but not imported | NEV, CRM, RMF, ARI, ARX, CINE, VOB, M2V, OGV, ASF, RM, RMVB, DIVX, F4V, 3G2, MPV, QT, and similar formats. They’re counted under Unsupported formats in the summary. |
| iCloud files not downloaded to your Mac | Counted under Files in iCloud in the summary. Download them in Finder and import again. |
Merceq doesn’t scan these folders or file groups: node_modules, .git, .Trash, .build folders, apps (.app), Photos Library, Final Cut (.fcpbundle), or iMovie libraries. You can’t import videos from Photos Library. First, first export the videos from Photos to a folder, then add that folder to Merceq.
