3 · Cull your clips and sort them into folders
How would you like to view your clips?
In Merceq, you can view the same library in three ways. Switch between them as you work.
| View | When to use it | How to open it |
|---|---|---|
| Overview | To see many clips together and choose by looking at their images. | The view selector in the top bar or ⌘1. |
| Lens | To cull quickly while seeing the clip you’re reviewing in a large player. | The view selector in the top bar or M. |
| list | To compare details such as clip length, size, and resolution side by side. | The view selector in the top bar or ⌘2. |
Hover over the three view icons at the top of the screen to see brief descriptions: Cull by images in Overview, Lens, and Cull by details in a list. You can also return from Lens to Overview with ⌘1. You’ll find how to cull in list view below.
Card size: Choose Small, Medium, or Large from the view row at the top. Small cards show more clips at once; large cards make images easier to inspect.
- The same options are in the View → Card Size menu.
- If you choose a card size while in list view, Merceq switches to Overview.
- In Lens, this option changes the layout of the small cards showing other clips. More details below.
Sorting: Sort your clips by Date, Name, Length, Size, or Resolution. Click the arrow beside it to reverse the sort. The button hint shows the selected direction: “new → old” / “old → new” for dates, “A → Z” / “Z → A” for names, and “most → least” / “least → most” for numbers.
