Search for a moment inside a clip

If you’re looking for a specific phrase or scene in a long video, you don’t need to scan your whole library. You can limit the search to that video.

  1. Select the clip and press S. Or right-click it and choose Search inside clip….
  2. Make sure the in this clip: {ad} × chip appears in the search box.
  3. Type the word or scene you’re looking for and press Enter.
  4. Open the video and review the matching moments.
  5. If there are multiple matches, move between results with the ‹ n/N › buttons below the video player.
  6. In Why it matched, see whether the result came from speech, image, or text, which moment it corresponds to, and the matching section.

When you find the moment you’re looking for, you can mark a scene with I / O or add a time to the clip note.

A match doesn’t mean the words you’re looking for were spoken exactly as written in the video. You may also get an image-related match; check it by watching and listening to the result.
