Pause, resume, or stop

Each job in Machine has buttons for the relevant actions:

Button What does it do?
Pause Temporarily holds only the job you selected. A temporary pause ends when some jobs finish or the next job starts.
Resume Resumes a job you paused or one that was interrupted.
Stop Ends the job. Check the status of files or records completed so far.
Cancel Removes a queued job or an unfinished job record without restarting it.

Not every button appears for every job. In particular, Stop and Pause aren’t the same action. If you want to resume later, choose Pause when it’s available for that job.

Buttons only affect the job in their row. If you press Stop after a job has already finished, you won’t accidentally stop the next one. Pressing the same button twice doesn’t start an additional task either.

Pausing Sense is persistent. If you pause Sense with Pause, this preference remains even if you close and reopen Merceq, reset the library, or restore a backup. To run it again, press Resume.

The Mute the barcode button on the barcode only stops its visual movement. It doesn’t pause Sense or file transfers.
