Add defects as markers
This option is in the Send to editing app section and is off by default. When you turn it on, some problematic moments detected by Merceq are added as markers to the editing project. This makes it easier to find sections you may want to check while editing.
The note on screen says: “Clips stay full length; out-of-focus and shaky ranges appear as markers in your editing app.”
- The video isn’t cut or changed. The full-length clip stays in place.
- In FCPXML projects, markers are written to the clip; in Premiere XML projects, they’re written to the main clip.
- These markers cover specific durations. They’re named Out of focus and Camera shake.
- Markers are created only for clips that have been scanned for problems. They aren’t available for videos longer than 30 minutes, or clips on a disk that isn’t connected or in iCloud.
Thresholds for problem detection are still being tuned with real footage. Treat markers as suggestions for sections to review, not as final decisions.
