Find other takes or similar scenes
You can find other takes starting from a clip that interests you. The G menu offers two searches; the number of results appears beside each option.
| Option | Key | What it’s for |
|---|---|---|
| Any other takes of this? | 1 | See other candidates from the same shoot. |
| Scenes like this | 2 | Find visually similar footage. |
- Select the clip you want to start from.
- Press G. The right-click menu also has a Find similar clips option.
- Press 1 or 2 to start the selected search right away.
- Or select a row with ↑ / ↓ and run it with Enter or G. G G is a shortcut. Esc closes the menu.
- Open and compare the clips you find. A Similar or Similar scenes chip appears in the view row.
Sense must be ready to search for similar scenes. If it isn’t ready, the row’s note says one of: “Needs Sense · download”, “Visual search is off · turn on”, or “This clip hasn’t been analyzed yet”. When Sense isn’t ready, 2 takes you to Sense setup. If results are split into certain and possible, the note says “{n} certain · {m} maybe”.
No results doesn’t prove there are no similar takes. Check your active filters and Sense’s preparation status.
Searching for similar takes doesn’t change your folders or culling decisions. You decide which footage to use. To compare two candidates side by side, you can use the Duel method in the next section.
Other takes, similar scenes, and exact file copies are different things. Two similar-looking videos may be different takes. Exact copies of the same content aren’t included in “other takes” results; copy comparison is handled separately.
