Create a named backup
When you finish an important stage of culling or editing, you can create your own backup so you can return to that point.
- Open the Backups window.
- Click the Create backup button beside the On this Mac heading. A row opens where you can enter a backup name.
- Type a memorable name in the Backup name (optional) field, for example First cull done or Selections ready for editing. You can leave it empty if you like.
- Click the row’s Create backup button or press Enter. Choose Cancel if you change your mind.
- Make sure your new backup appears in the list; check its date and clip count.
Named backups aren’t kept forever either. Merceq keeps a limited number and may clean up older ones. See How long are backups kept? for details. If you want to keep an important stage for a long time, also save your backup to a file.
