Open the shot list window
When you open the Shot list tool, you’ll see a separate window where you can create and organize your lists. You can close the window by using the same tool again.
The shot list window doesn’t interrupt your work:
- Drag it by its title to move it.
- Drag a corner to resize it. Its minimum size is 300 × 180 pixels.
- Its position, size, open or closed state, and selected list are remembered. The selected list is saved in your library backup; the window position and open or closed state are specific to the Mac you’re using.
- You can keep working in your main library while the window is open. Browse clips, make decisions with F and R, and organize them into folders with 1–9.
Compact list indicator: You can see the active list name, the number of filled slots, and the total number of slots, for example 3/8. Up to nine slots are shown as small cells. Filled cells are amber; the list turns green when complete. If there’s no list, Shot list appears. This lets you track your progress without opening the full window.
First opening: If you don’t have a list yet or choose New list…, you’ll see the start screen:
- The animated Cocktail Reels example shows a six-scene list.
- The description explains the basics: “Your video’s scenes go in order; put the best clip from the grid in each scene. An empty slot means a shot is missing.”
- Under Your lists, your previous lists appear with filled/total counts.
- Under Start from a template, you’ll find six ready-made templates and the + New list option.
- Hover over a template to see an example list with that template’s sections.
