Choose what to export
At the top of the window, you’ll see two stages: Summary and destination and layout selection.
On the Summary screen, the heading “To export: N clips” shows how many clips will be exported based on your current selections.
- If you return after reviewing your on-hold clips, you’ll see the heading “Hold is cleared too.”
- If there are no clips in your library, it says “No clips in the library.”
Below the heading is a short summary of your decisions: “N clips decided · x in folders · y on hold · z rejected”.
Four separate rows show the status of your clips and what you can do with each group. Status words on the right include going out, staying, not connected, on card, to Trash, and to Pending deletion. Colored dots beside the counts show clip status: folder clips are green, on-hold clips amber, rejected clips red, and clips awaiting a decision gray.
By default, clips placed in folders are exported. You have to select clips you’ve put on hold or haven’t decided on yet separately. A special rule applies to clips in shot lists, as explained below.
| Group | What you see | Options | Default behavior |
|---|---|---|---|
| Folders | “N clips in folders.” | Review | Clips are exported with their folders. |
| On hold | “N clips on hold.” | Also export on-hold clips / review now | Stay in the library. If selected, they’re exported under On hold/. |
| Rejected | “N clips rejected.” | Add to Pending deletion · Move to Trash · Keep in place / Review | Kept in place; never included in the export. |
| Waiting for a decision | “N clips waiting for a decision.” | Option to include this group too | Stay in the library. If selected, they’re exported under In queue/. |
- Check the footage to export in the Folders row. Review takes you to the view with those clips.
- To export on-hold clips too, turn on Also export on-hold clips. They’re placed in the On hold/ folder.
- Choose what to do with Rejected clips. We explain the options in the next section.
- To export clips without a decision yet, turn on the option to include this group too. They’re placed in In queue/.
- When your selections are ready, continue to destination and layout.
Review now: On-hold pass
The review now option in the On hold row closes the window and starts a pass where you can review only clips you’ve put on hold.
- The status bar says “On-hold pass · Exit pass”.
- You’ll see the tip “Send the clip to a folder or reject it in this pass.”
- When you finish the pass, you’ll return to the Summary screen with the heading “Hold is cleared too.”
Clips in shot lists
A clip in your shot list may be included in the export even if you choose not to export the Waiting for a decision or On hold group. The Summary screen notes this exception: “Not exported; the {sayı} in a shot list still go out.”
- Clips from shot lists count toward the To export: N total above.
- Those not placed in another folder are exported under In queue/ or On hold/.
- A Rejected clip can’t be in a shot list.
A clip already delivered won’t automatically be included in a later export even if it’s in your shot list; its Merceq folder was removed when it was delivered (see Your library after delivery). To export it again, first return it to the queue with Return delivered clips to queue.
Disk not connected
If a disk with clips on it isn’t connected, Merceq tells you: “{n} of them are on the {disk} disk; they stay for now because that disk isn’t connected.” If all clips are on that disk, it says “{disk} isn’t connected — reconnect it and you can export them.” Their status appears as not connected. You can export these clips after connecting the disk.
