Frame capture (P)
P lets you save a single frame from the original video as a photo (PNG); it does the same thing as the Save the frame as a photo button in the panel. Works only in preview.
- In preview, press P. Frame mode opens; “Choose the frame to save”, Save, and Cancel appear in the panel.
- Choose the frame:

| ⇧← / ⇧→ | Go back or forward one second. |
| Enter | Open the Save window (same as Save in the panel). |
| Esc | Exit frame mode (same as Cancel in the panel). Preview stays open. |
While frame mode is open, ↑ / ↓, Home / End, and Page Up / Page Down don’t change clips. They stay idle so you don’t lose the frame you chose.
When you save, the macOS Save window opens: the filename is ready, and the window opens in the last folder you saved to. For details, see Section 4: Choose the best moments inside a clip.
