Bottom bar

The bottom bar is at the bottom of the window. On the left, thin lines separate these areas: back up · clear │ Disks │ Shot list. On the right are shortcuts for frequently used actions and the ⌘K button.

On the left

Part What it does
back up Opens the Backups window. Details: Back up and restore.
clear Opens the What would you like to clean up? options. Details: Pending deletion and reset.
Disks Shows a disk name, the number of “… disks”, or “No disks”. If a disk in your library isn’t connected, a small yellow dot appears beside it. Click to see connected disks; use Eject to safely disconnect one.
Shot list Shows the active shot list’s name, small cells, and how many cells are filled (for example, “3/8”). If there isn’t a list yet, it says “Shot list”. Click to open the shot list window.

clear appears only when there are clips in the library. You can use back up when the library is empty too; restore your backup file from here. If the library is empty, only back up appears in the bottom bar.

On the right

These buttons show both the action name and its keyboard shortcut.

Button Key What it does
Preview Space Opens the selected clip in the large preview.
hold F Puts the selected clip on hold.
cut R Rejects the selected clip.
to folder 1–9 Opens the Folders wing.
search ⌘F Moves the pointer to the search box.

If you haven’t selected a clip, you can’t use Preview, hold, or reject; you’ll see the “Select a clip first.” alert. While a task is running, back up, clear, Preview, hold, and reject are temporarily unavailable; you’ll see “You can use this when the current task finishes.” to folder, search, Lens, Disks, Shot list, and ⌘K remain available.

There are no bottom bar buttons for Tag (T), notes (N), or audio (A). Their shortcuts still work and appear in the ⌘K window. Undo isn’t in the bottom bar either; use the Undo button in the top bar or ⌘Z.

If you make the window narrower: First the shortcut names are hidden, leaving only the keys. Make it a little narrower and the to folder, search, and Lens buttons are hidden; their keyboard shortcuts still work. Make it narrower still and back up and clear appear as icons only. The Shot list name is hidden, but its cells and count remain visible.
