Culling and folders
These keys work in the library and in preview. If there’s a selection, the action applies to the whole selection.
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|---|
| F | Put on hold. Press again on the same clip to take it off hold. |
| R | Reject. Press again on the same clip to clear the rejection. |
| 0, O, or Backspace | Clear the decision. O ends a scene in preview; use 0 or Backspace there. |
| 1–9 | Add to or remove from the folder with that number. |
| T | Open the clip in preview and go to the tag field. |
| N | Open the clip in preview and go to the notes field. |
| Enter | Open the clip in preview and go to the name field. If there’s a Duel candidate, it selects the opponent (see Duel). |
| S | Search within this clip (Search within clip). |
| G | Open the Similar menu (see G menu). |
| V | Compare (see Duel). |
R doesn’t delete files. The clip moves to Rejected; the video stays on disk.
Holding a key doesn’t repeat the decision. Each press makes one decision.
Numbers (1–9)
- A folder’s number is the slot on its shelf. Deleting a folder doesn’t shift the other numbers.
- If all selected clips are already in the folder, the number removes them all. Otherwise, it adds the ones that are missing.
- Press an unused number in the library to be asked for a name for a new folder. The folder takes that number.
- An unused number in preview does nothing. Only existing folders are used in preview.
- After making a decision in Overview, the pointer moves to the next clip. In preview, the pointer stays where it is.
⇧ + number (in preview only)
⇧ + 1–9 adds the clip you just passed to that folder or removes it. The pointer doesn’t move.
- If the folder doesn’t exist, you’ll be asked for a name.
- If you haven’t passed a clip yet, this hint appears: “No previous clip yet; ⇧ + number works on the clip you just passed.”
- ⇧ + number does nothing in Overview.
