Mark clips with tags

Use folders to sort your footage by purpose, and tags to mark information about videos you want to remember. For example, you could use Interview, Night, Review again, or Audio check.

Add a tag to one clip

  1. Select a clip and press T. Preview opens in the Add tag field.
  2. Type your tag in the + add field and press Enter to add it. Esc leaves the field.
  3. Check the added tag in the panel.

You can also use Add Tag… in the right-click menu. Click the × beside a tag to remove it.

Add a tag to multiple clips

  1. Select the clips you want to tag together.
  2. Open preview with Space and go to the tag field.
  3. Add the tag; it applies to the whole selection.
  4. If you remove a tag with × in the panel, it’s removed from all the selected clips.

With multiple clips selected, the panel shows the tags on the clip you’re currently pointing at; it doesn’t show the tags they have in common.

Undo a group tag change with ⌘Z. You can work with tags when multiple clips are selected even though the clip name and note fields are off.
