3 · Cull your clips and sort them into folders

Apply the same action to multiple clips

Use multi-select to add multiple clips to the same folder, put them on hold, or reject them.

With the keyboard:

  • Use Shift + ← / → to add adjacent clips to your selection.
  • In list view, Shift + ↑ / ↓ extends the selection to adjacent rows.
  • In the Overview grid, Shift + ↑ / ↓ doesn’t add the cards in between; it adds only the card one row above or below. To select an adjacent range, use Shift + ← / → or Shift-click.

With the mouse:

  • Shift-click: Selects all clips between the first one you selected and the one you clicked.
  • ⌘-click: Adds clips to or removes them from the selection one at a time. Note: Simply clicking the first clip doesn’t include it in a multi-selection; you need to ⌘-click the first clip too.
  • Drag to select: In Overview, drag from an empty space to draw a selection box. If you hold Shift, you add clips to your selection. This feature isn’t available in list view.

Then:

  1. Check the selected cards. If you click ▷ on the left, the Culling panel says {n} selected.
  2. Use 1–9 to add them to the same folder, F to put them on hold, or R to reject them.
  3. If you applied the wrong action, undo the group action with ⌘Z.

If all your selections already have the same decision, group F or R clears that decision. The selection is cleared after a group decision or clearing action.

Use ⌘A to select all visible clips. If a search is active, the first press selects only exact results; the second selects all visible results. Check how many clips you selected before applying an action.

Folder and culling decisions apply to all selected clips. Clip names and notes are edited one at a time; we’ll cover adding tags to multiple clips together in the next section.
