Take action from notifications

Notifications don’t just keep you informed; when needed, they can take you directly to the relevant task.

  1. Open Notifications with the bell button in the top bar.
  2. Review situations waiting for your response in Needs attention.
  3. Read the explanation and use the action button in that notification.
  4. Find completed notifications in History.

If the same warning has appeared repeatedly, it is grouped under “Repeated {n} times” instead of separate rows.

Button in the notification What is it for?
Find the videos Show the folder containing source videos that have moved or can’t be reached.
Repair previews Recreate missing cover images (“{n} clips are missing covers”).
Show these clips Show clips whose previews couldn’t be prepared in the main view.
Show short clips View videos set aside because they were short during import.
Show report Open the export report.
Show in Finder Open the result of the completed task in Finder.
Eject disk Safely disconnect a disk whose job is finished.
Open cleanup Open the cleanup window when previews take up a lot of space (“Previews are using {boyut}…”).
Back up / Open backups Create a library backup or review existing backups.
Restore backup Restore from a backup when the library can’t be opened.
Settings Go to the relevant settings when a video preview tool can’t be found.
Open plugins Go to the relevant section when a warning says a required tool is turned off.
Resume transfer / Cancel Resume or abandon an unfinished transfer.
Resume download / Manage Sense Manage an incomplete or failed Sense download.
Transcribe speech again Ask Sense to analyse speech it could understand better.

Pressing an action button doesn’t mean the task has succeeded. Check the result after a repair or transfer too. If a notification is out of date, you may see “This action is no longer available; things may have changed.” In that case, check the latest status of the relevant clip or job.

For files left at the source after a transfer, go to “What’s left at the source?” in the import summary, not to notifications.

Clean up in Notifications deletes notification history. It doesn’t cancel queued jobs or affect your videos.
