Adjust playback preferences
Open Settings → Playback. The page first shows playback options and LUT, followed by Camera names and Watched folders.
Replay when a video ends
Turn this option on if you want to review a clip repeatedly. It starts over when the video ends.
To loop a specific scene, use Loop for that scene in the preview. The general playback loop and repeating a scene range are different tasks.
Open previews muted
Turn this option on if you want to scan clips by image first. Press A to turn on audio for a clip you want to listen to.
Muted preview doesn’t remove or change the file’s audio; it only sets your playback preference.
Show subtitles
Turn this on to see prepared speech text as subtitles below the video. While a video plays, the sentence being spoken appears below it, in Space and Lens, including full screen. “Speech recognition can make mistakes.” appears below the line: the text is generated automatically and may occasionally be wrong.
This option is off by default. Turning it on or off takes effect immediately. Turning it on doesn’t prepare speech text by itself; the text for the relevant clip must be ready. If you see a wrong sentence, you can correct it in the speech section of the preview.
This preference doesn’t burn subtitles into the image. To get a separate subtitle file, use the Save SRT option.
LUT
Use this row to use your own .cube LUT in the preview.
- The row shows the name of the selected LUT, for example Sony Look. If you haven’t selected a LUT, it says None selected.
- Choose… lets you select a .cube file. Your selected LUT opens right away and a LUT button appears in Space’s bottom bar; that button turns the LUT on and off.
- Remove removes the LUT from Merceq; the LUT button in Space disappears. Remove is dimmed when no LUT is selected.
For details and error messages, see Watch your video with your own LUT in Choose the best moments in a clip.
Camera names and watched folders
The Edit… button in the Camera names row opens the window where you name your cameras. See Edit your cameras and sources for details. Watched folders are folders that notify you about new videos. See Import your footage for details.
Library backups aren’t in Settings: the Back up button in the bottom bar opens the Backups window, where you can back up, restore from a file, and manage automatic backups. See Back up and restore your library for details.
