Install a new version
When a new version is available, an “↑ v{sürüm}” badge appears beside Settings in the top bar.
- Click the badge. Read the release notes in the “Merceq v{sürüm}” bubble.
- Press the Update now button. During the download, it says “Downloading… %n”; use Cancel if you want to stop.
- You’ll see the message “Downloaded and verified. The new version opens when Merceq restarts.”
- Switch to the new version with Restart.
If the version can’t be installed from within the app, the Open Download Page button appears. Download the installer from there.
Common blockers:

| An administrator account is required to update Merceq. | Update with an administrator account or install from the download page. |
| A job is running. You can restart and update when it’s finished. | Wait for the ongoing transfer or deletion to finish. |
| The update couldn’t be downloaded. | Check your internet connection and try again. |
| The update couldn’t be verified / installed. | Install the new version from the download page. Your library and decisions will remain. |
Check the status of any ongoing transfer before restarting. If a job is running, completing it makes it easier to track the result after the update.
