What does the copy badge tell you?

Merceq can recognize exact copies of the same video. If a clip has copies, you’ll see the ⧉ N mark on its card and in Lens view. Hover over the mark to see the tooltip N more copies of this video.

  • N is the number of copies outside the selected file. The video itself isn’t included. Exact copies on other disks are counted too.
  • The Duplicates column in list view shows the same number.
  • To see all clips with copies, use the Has duplicates mark on the left or its filter.
  • The badge isn’t a button. Clicking it only selects the clip. To compare its copies, select the clip and press V. Its tooltip also includes Compare clips and the V key.

The extra copy count in cleanup may look different. Cleanup counts only copies on the same disk, while the badge shows copies on all disks. A difference between the two numbers isn’t an error by itself. For cleanup and deletion options, see Pending deletion and reset.
