Spot focus and camera shake issues early
Merceq can detect sections where the image is blurry or the camera shakes. These ranges appear on the timeline as a thin orange line between the audio waveform and the blue speech blocks. The line runs only for the problem section.
- Find the orange line on the timeline.
- Hover over it. It may say, for example, “0:00–0:04 · out of focus” or “0:12–0:15 · camera shake”.
- Click the line. The video goes to the beginning of the range.
- Watch and decide: leave that range out of the scene, reject the clip, or use it anyway.
Things to know:
- The orange line appears after background analysis is complete. It isn’t shown while scanning is in progress.
- This analysis works only on previewable clips that are no longer than 30 minutes and whose source disk is connected.
- If the whole clip is blurry, no range appears. Find these clips with the Blurry filter (Section 5).
- Intentionally blurred backgrounds or smooth camera movements aren’t marked as problems.
- You’ll see this line only in the detailed video preview; it isn’t shown on clip cards.
- The same ranges feed the Out of focus and Shaky filters in the library (Section 5). They can also be added as markers to an editing project (Section 8).
