12 · Set Merceq up for how you work
Check for updates
- Open the Settings → General → Updates group.
- To check manually, press the Check button in the Check for updates now row. If you’ve checked before, “Last checked: {zaman}” appears dimmed below the row.
- Read the result: “Checking…”, “Merceq is up to date”, “Merceq v{sürüm}”, or “Couldn’t check for updates…”. If no check has been made, it says “Not checked yet”.
If you turn on the Tell me when a new version is out switch, Merceq checks once a day for a new version. The group’s note says: “It only lets you know. Nothing is downloaded unless you ask.” This switch is off by default.
Permission bubble: If you haven’t decided yet, a few seconds after Merceq opens, the “Check for updates?” bubble appears beside the Settings button. Below it, you’ll see: “Merceq checks once a day for new versions only. Nothing about you or your videos is sent.”
- Yes: turns on automatic checks.
- No: leaves them off.
- × (Ask later): asks you once more the next time the app opens. If you dismiss it a second time, it won’t ask again.
You can change your decision later with the Tell me when a new version is out switch.
