Add files to the library where they are

Choose this method if your videos are already on the disk or in the folder you’ll work from.

1. Select your files or folders.
2. Check your selection in the summary row at the bottom.
3. Click Import. Its hint says, “Files stay where they are; Merceq does not move or copy them.”
4. Start reviewing the clips added to the library.

Merceq doesn’t copy or move videos anywhere else during this task. It opens videos in the library from their original locations. If you disconnect the external disk or card, you’ll need to reconnect the source to play the whole video.

If you’ll use the card in your camera later, it’s better to work from a permanent copy using Copy to disk, then import.

Merceq chooses clip covers. For each clip, it chooses a frame near the middle of the video that isn’t dark or blurry. There’s no way to choose the cover manually.
