2 · Import your footage

Open the Import window

You can open the Import window in three ways:

  • The Import button in the top bar.
  • File → Import… in the menu bar.
  • The ⌘O shortcut.

If there are no videos in your library yet, “There are no videos here yet.” appears in the middle of the screen. Below it, you’ll see the prompt “Drop your folder here or use Import in the top-left corner.”

To close the window, press Esc, click the × button, or click outside the window. If the Add or Copy to disk first menu is open, Esc closes that menu first.

A connected memory card is selected automatically. If you insert an SD card while the window is open, or a card is connected when you open it, Merceq scans the card and adds everything to Selected. If you want only some of the videos on the card, first click Clean up or use the × on the card’s selection tag. External disks are also listed, but aren’t selected automatically.
