Local operation and privacy

Merceq manages your footage on your own Mac and connected disks. You don’t need to upload your videos to a cloud service to cull, classify, annotate, and preview clips. Sense also analyses images, speech, and on-screen text on your Mac; it doesn’t send your source videos to a server for analysis.

Local operation doesn’t mean Merceq never needs the internet for any task. You may need a connection to download Sense models for the first time, activate or verify your license, and check for and download app updates. Alpha usage metrics send limited numerical information only if you allow them; find details in Manage Alpha metrics in this section.
