All filters
Press L or click the L button at the bottom of the tool rail on the left to access all filters. L does this only when the player isn’t open. Press Esc or click outside the window to close it.
The window has four sections:
| Section | Rows |
|---|---|
| What | Flaws (Unreadable, No preview, Dark, Out of focus, Shaky, Clipped audio, No audio track) · Frame (Vertical, Horizontal, Square) · Length · Status (Audio not scanned yet, Audio scanned, Named, Untagged, Exported, Last import; Marked if Link is on) · Tags (#name) · Saved searches. |
| Where from | Shooting (calendar) · Time of day (Morning, Noon, Evening, Night, Unknown shoot time) · Location (With location, No location, and all cities) · Camera (Unknown camera and “name the cameras” included) · Source · Import. |
| Sense | Only when Sense is on. Speech (With speech, No speech) · Framing (Close-up, Wide) · Shooting (Selfie, Drone) · Place (Indoor, Outdoor) · Flaws (Retake called, Blurry, Windy audio) · Topic. |
| Technical | Resolution (8K, 4K – 6K, 2.5K – 3K, 1080p, 720p, Low resolution) · Frame rate (24–25 FPS and below, ~30, ~50–60, 90+) · Codec (H.264, HEVC, ProRes, Other; 10-bit and above) · Color (HDR, Log, SDR) · Format (MP4, MOV, MXF, INSV, Raw camera format, Other format). |
Flaws isn’t its own section. There’s a Flaws row in both What and Sense: one for problems measured by Merceq, the other for Sense’s estimates.
Find a filter
To find a filter in the long list, type its name in the find a filter box at the top. Enter applies the first clickable match. If there are no matches, it says “No filter matches”.
Active filters appear together at the top of the window, such as 4K and With speech. Each has an × beside it. To the side, you’ll see “{n} filters on” and a clear link.
As with Quick filters, when you hover over a chip, videos that don’t match that condition dim in the background and the bottom row of the window says “{ad} · {n} clips match”. The shoot calendar, tags, and saved searches don’t show this preview; they take you to a separate clip scope. When you close the window, the clips return to their previous appearance.
Options that return no results or already include every clip look dim and can’t be selected. Some options are available only after clips are prepared or if the file contains the relevant information.
Review problematic footage together
You can find footage that may have problems in two places: the Weed out stage in the Quick filters wing, or All filters → What → Flaws.
- Select the image or audio problem you want to review.
- Review the clips you get. A dark or windy take may still be useful.
- Select the ones you won’t use and reject them with R; put the ones you’re unsure about on hold with F.
- If you made the wrong bulk decision, undo it with ⌘Z.
A filter finds footage for you to review; you decide whether to use it.
