Apply your earlier decisions with Recall
When you add videos you’ve rejected or put on hold before back to your library, you don’t have to make the same decisions from scratch. Recall can offer to apply your earlier decisions to clips it recognises.
- Turn on Recall in the Plugins section.
- Import your videos.
- If the import summary shows “You’ve seen … of these clips before”, review how your earlier decisions are distributed.
- If you agree, press Apply earlier decisions.
- Check the result. If a wrong decision was applied, you can undo it with ⌘Z.
Recall doesn’t recognise a video by its filename or folder alone; it also compares its contents. It may recognise footage whose name has changed.
Recall brings back earlier culling decisions, not your entire workflow. You can’t use this method to restore earlier folders, notes, tags, scene selections, or names you gave clips. Use a library backup for those.
Earlier decisions suggested by Recall are applied in bulk on this screen; you can’t choose clip by clip. Also, the current state of videos that you made new decisions about or added to a folder after importing them again won’t be replaced by an earlier decision.
The memory copy offered by Recall is a separate feature. During the relevant closing or cleanup task, it can leave a small viewing copy of rejected videos. This copy isn’t a video backup at original quality. You don’t need to create a memory copy for Recall to suggest earlier decisions.
Machine helps you track what’s happening while jobs run; Merceq tools manage faster finding, remembering, and editing preparation. In the next section, we’ll adjust playback, appearance, storage, and update settings.
