3 · Cull your clips and sort them into folders
Organize your folders
Manage your folders in the Folders panel, opened from the folder icon on the left. At the top, you’ll see how many of the nine quick-access slots are filled, such as FOLDERS 3/9. Below are folder slots numbered 1–9.
Filled row:
- Shows the folder’s number, name, and how many clips it contains.
- Click a row to see only clips in that folder. The folder’s tag appears in the view row; click it again to leave this view.
- Hover over a folder to see an edit icon and ×. Use Rename this folder to change its name. Enter saves; Esc cancels.
- Click × to remove a folder without a confirmation. Your videos aren’t deleted. If you removed it by mistake, use ⌘Z to restore the folder along with its clip memberships.
Empty slot: Click the word empty to see a box where you can enter a folder name and name suggestions.
+ New folder…: Lets you name a new folder. When all nine quick-access slots are full, you’ll see Shelf full.
To remove a clip from a folder, press the corresponding number key again or choose Remove from folder from the right-click menu. If the clip is in other folders, those memberships are kept.
Folder numbers are fixed. When you remove a folder, the shortcuts for the others don’t change; only the removed folder’s number becomes empty.
