Something is missing from the editing project

  1. Check that you selected the right editing software during export.
  2. Keep the created project file and video output together.
  3. Check the report’s explanations about missing clips or shot lists.
  4. Check media links when you open the project.
  5. Review scene ranges and list order.

Selecting a scene doesn’t mean the external video file is trimmed. Scene ranges and selection timelines are used in the editing project file. Markers and timelines may appear in different places depending on the editing software; check both after opening the project.

Clips in the shot list are included in the export scope; check the number of listed clips on the Summary screen. If an image you expected is missing from the project, check these causes:

  • The clip’s source disk isn’t connected; connect the source first.
  • Copying the clip failed; check the failed row in the transfer report.
  • The clip’s duration couldn’t be read; the report may say “…wasn’t added to the project.”
  • The relevant box in the list was empty to begin with; empty boxes aren’t transferred as gaps to the editing timeline, they’re skipped.
  • The clip was delivered before. After export, the Merceq folder is considered complete and disappears; the clip won’t automatically be included in the next transfer, even if it’s in the shot list. Use Return delivered clips to queue to queue it again.

If you expect speech text in the editing project, save an SRT file separately from the preview. The editing project file doesn’t back up all speech text or decisions and notes in your Merceq library.
