Find by location
Merceq can show the city where your videos with location information were shot. It doesn’t connect to the internet for this; it identifies city names from its built-in list.
Where does location come from? iPhone, Android phones, DJI drones (sidecar .SRT files), and GoPro (telemetry).
Where can you find it?
- Quick filters → Find → Location: the 6 cities with the most clips. The active city is always shown.
- All filters → Where from → Location: With location, No location, and all cities. Choose one item in this row.
- Search box: a city or country name (Search by city or country name).
Limits to keep in mind:
- The list contains 279 cities and 72 countries. A clip is matched to a listed city if it’s within 75 km of it.
- Rural areas and some small countries may not be on the list. For those clips, the city and country aren’t shown; the clip still appears under With location.
- City names use a single form, for example Roma, Moscow.
- You can see a clip’s coordinates and city in Info (section 4).
