Start with an empty list

To create your own plan:

1. In the Shot list window, choose + New list. You can also return to the start screen from the list menu → New list….
2. Merceq creates a list named New list with a single slot named new, then opens the editing view.
3. Type a name that reminds you of your project in the List name field.
4. Use Add slot to create as many sections as you need, and name each one.
5. When you’re done, click done to return to clip placement.

You don’t need to prepare a long plan at the start. Begin with a few sections, such as Opening → Main story → Details → Closing, and add more as you spot what’s missing.

If you reuse the name of an existing list, Merceq gives the new list a different name, such as Name 2, taking uppercase and lowercase differences into account.
